Following the national announcement on targeted provision of supervised toothbrushing for 3-5 year olds in England, we are preparing to initiate a supervised toothbrushing programme in early years settings and primary schools reception classes in Oldham. In addition, free toothbrushes and toothpastes will be distributed to children aged 3 and 4 years attending Early Years Settings and Childminders for these children to use at home. Children in Primary School reception classes will receive toothbrushes and toothpaste as part of the National Child Measurement Programme.
To support these initiatives, we’d like to understand current and previous supervised toothbrushing activity across the borough, and the number of children eligible for each oral health initiative in each setting. We’d be grateful if you can take a few minutes to complete this survey about activity in your setting. The information provided will be shared with the supervised toothbrushing service provider, once established.
